At the request of Elijah Hoye, this Deed was recorded Oct. 6, 1894, at 12 o’clock M.
This Indenture, Made this 20’ day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety four between Elizabeth Friend and John Friend, her husband, Mary E. Hoye and Samuel C. Hoye her husband, William H. Hoye and Lou S. Hoye, his wife and Sarah C. Cassidy, all of Garrett County and State of Maryland, and Benjamin F. Hoye and Alice Hoye, his wife, of Preston County and State of West Virginia of the first part, and Elijah Hoye of Garrett County and State of Maryland, of the Second part.
Witnesseth, that the above named parties of the first part for and in consideration of the Sum of Fifteen hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the Said Elijah Hoye before the ensealing of these present have granted, bargained and Sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and Sell unto the Said Elijah Hoye, his heirs and assigns forever all those parts of tracts of land described as follows; Situated in Garrett County and State of Maryland on the waters of the waters of the Youghioghany River, Viz:
All that part of a tract of land called Friend’s Delight and all that part of a tract of land called the Gleanings, which parts of tracts of land were conveyed to William W. Hoye by john Hoye by deed bearing date on the first day of September in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty four and recorded amongst the Land Records of Allegany County, and by William W. Hoye and Mary Hoye, his wife, to David Hoye by deed bearing date on the tenth day of February in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty five, and recorded amongst the Land Records of Allegany County, reference being had thereto wit more fully appear containing about three hundred and twenty acres in both pieces, be it more or less, except a piece which John Hoye Sold to John and Dominick Mattingly on the on the twenty eight day of February eighteen hundred and thirty one, also a piece is excepted which was Sold to Elijah Friend’s heirs by David Hoye’s heirs containing about seventeen acres and lying on the North side of the River at and near the mouth of Sang Run. (The above described tracts, pieces or parcels of land conveyed to Elijah Friend by David Hoye and Elizabeth Hoye, his wife by deed bearing date on the eight day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two and recorded among the Land Records of Allegany County in Liber AB No. C.C. folios 222, 223, 224, as by reference thereto wit more fully and at large appear.)
Together with all and singular the rights, members, privileges, advantages, hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining. To have and to hold the Said tracts, pieces or parcels of land above described and hereby intended to be conveyed, with the appurtenances thereunto belonging, unto him the said Elijah Hoye, his heirs and assigns to the only proper use, benefit and behoof of the Said Elijah Hoye, his heirs and assigns forever.
And the Said Elizabeth Friend and John Friend, her husband, Mary E. Hoye and Samuel C. Hoye, her husband, William H. Hoye and Lou S. Hoye, his wife, Sarah C. Cassidy and Benjamin F. Hoye and Alice Hoye, his wife, for themselves, their heirs, executors and administrators do hereby covenant and agree to and with the Said Elijah Hoye, his heirs and assigns, and that they the Said parties of the first part do by these presents warrant and forever defend from all per persons whomsoever the above described pieces or parcels of land.
In testimony whereof, the Said Elizabeth Friend and John Friend, her husband, Mary E. Hoye and Samuel C. Hoye, her husband, William H. Hoye and Lou S. Hoye, his wife, Sarah C. Cassidy and Benjamin F. Hoye and Alice Hoye, his wife, have hereunto subscribed their names and affixed their Seals the day and year first written.

Hoye and Samuel C. Hoye, her husband and Sarah C. Cassidy, and did each acknowledged the foregoing deed to be their respective acts.
