Muster Rolls and other Records of Service of Maryland Troops in the American Revolution. Vol. 18, pp. 263 &264. Roll of Capt. William Hayser's Company dated 23rd October 1776, Friend, Tobias, Deserted, ( means that he wasn't there when head count was made ).
Vol. 18, pg. 204. Friend, James, Pvt.---enlisted 7 August 1777---discharged 1 January 1780, under remarks--discharged August 1780.
Vol. 18, pp. 330, 397, & 405. Friend / Frend, Cornish, entered service 30 May 1778, a draft, a ship carpenter, time of service---9 months. Friend, Cornish, 4th Regt.---10 Sept. 1781. Frend, Cornish, return of men inlisted in the Maryland Line in 1781, when enlisted, 17 July 1781 in 5th Regt., term of service, War. ( or the duration of the War ).
