At the request of William Peyton, Joseph Friend Senr. of Gabriel Friend this deed was recorded the20th August 1832.
This indenture made this sixteenth day of August in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and thirty two, between Joseph Friend of G. and John G. Friend of the one part and William Payton, Joseph Friend, Sen. And Gabriel Friend and Gabriel Friend , Trustees of the other part, Witnesseth; that the aforesaid Joseph Friend of G. and John G. Friend for and in consideration of having a church built for the Public worship of Almighty God, and use of Sabbath School to be called Bear Creek Meeting House by the above named trustees, them their successors, we acknowledge that we hereby grant, bargain and by theses presence do grant, bargain and give unto the said William Peyton, Joseph Friend Senr. and Gabriel Friend Trustees all that lot or parcel of land being on two different tracts, one called “Mill Seat” the other “Gleanings” Beginning at a marked Beach near the spring and five and a half rods north thirty four degrees east from the beginning tree of Mill Seat and running east four rods north sixteen perches west fourteen south fourteen perches thence by a straight line to the beginning marked beach and said Joseph Friend of G. and John G. Friend together with all and singular it advantages, profits and privileges thereunto belonging to the said land and premises to the said William Peyton, Joseph Friend Senr. And Gabriel Friend, Trustees, and their successors for the said building. To Have and To Hold the same forever the said Joseph Friend and John G. Friend for themselves, their heirs, executor, administrator or assigns, will warrant and defend forever against all persons claiming the same. In Testimony whereas we hereby set our hands and seals the day and year above.
