7th Company of the 4th Battalion of Cumberland Co. Militia, commanded by Colonel Samuel Culbertson, Capt. James Patton, August 19, 1780--4th Class George Friend.
From the Blake-Ambrose Family History by Irma-Ruth ( Mason ) Anderson--1966.
George Friend married Maria-Magdalena Knable, d/o Jacob Knable and Marie-Salome Cassell, she was born 1778 in Berks Co., Pa. and afterwards married George Friend in Washington Co., Md.
It is not known if the two Georges are one in the same person.
